Kangaroo Point’s transformation is extending beyond its riverfront residences, with a series of neighbourhood improvements set to strengthen the peninsula’s connection to Brisbane’s green spaces, active transport networks and river city lifestyle.
For residents of Gaia, these changes represent more than improved infrastructure. They reflect an evolving neighbourhood where access to nature, convenient connections and opportunities for outdoor living are becoming increasingly integrated into everyday life.
Mowbray Park improvements – East Brisbane
The planned transformation of Mowbray Park will introduce new riverside green space, picnic areas, a community events space, playground, bandstand and improved pathways, creating a more inviting destination for recreation and community connection.
Shafston Avenue Bikeway – Kangaroo Point
The planned Shafston Avenue Bikeway will deliver a dedicated 1.2-kilometre cycling route and separate pedestrian path between Deakin Street and Mowbray Park, strengthening connections between Kangaroo Point, East Brisbane and the CBD.
Kangaroo Point ferry improvements
The Brisbane River is an integral part of Kangaroo Point’s identity, serving as both a defining natural feature and a practical transport link. Upgraded Cross River ferry services, introduced in January 2025, were designed to operate at least every 15 minutes, improving connections along routes including Dockside–Sydney Street.
As Kangaroo Point continues to evolve, its appeal lies in the balance between riverside tranquillity and inner-city convenience. Planned park improvements, enhanced walking and cycling connections, and more frequent ferry services will further shape how residents experience the neighbourhood.
